Fannie Bay Equestrian Club (FBEC) is a fantastic community club with a 50 year history right in the heart of Darwin.
FBEC encourages a love of horses and the development of equestrian sport. You don't have to be a member to feed the horses a carrot and feel a moment of country life in a busy city environment. Like our Facebook page to make sure you don't miss our Pony Ride open days.
Click here for membership information, or just come down and visit the horses at our beautiful club at East Point.
Thanks to everyone who is helping support Pearl's Legacy Fund.
Thanks also to everyone who supported our club through our recent lease issues with the City of Darwin.
In 2015 we were informed that we would not be allowed to exercise our 20 year option on our lease, due to start in 2020. After being assured at that time that the decision was merely the 'start of a conversation', Council then voted in 2017 NOT to negotiate with us and reaffirmed their commitment to to evict us in 2020.
Thanks to huge public support and a few aldermen who understood how important our club is, and to the efforts of our committee that decision to evict has now been overthrown.
The council voted for us to be able to negotiate a new 20 year lease, starting in 2020.
Negotiations have begun.
We are thankful, as we believe this amazing community asset deserves to live on and that future residents of the city of Darwin should benefit from this wonderful club.
The Fannie Bay Equestrian Club has a rich history, and a brilliant future.
